When faced with viruses and chronic diseases, the human immune system is designed to recognize, fight and destroy this “otherness”. The most powerful response of the immune system is to cells from another human being (allogeneic). Several of our technologies take advantage of this otherness to hyper stimulate a person’s immune response to better attack a chronic infection (e.g., HIV) or solid tumors. In some instances, cells taken from another person are sometimes genetically modified to further boost the immune system to seek and kill diseases.
Seraph Research Institute (SRI) is collaborating with a biotech company to develop two potential HIV cures or therapies that could allow persons living with HIV to control the virus by hyper stimulating the immune response.
SRI is collaborating with a biotech company to apply its platform to genetically modify allogeneic Dendritic Cells (DC), which orchestrate the immune system, to hyper-stimulate the immune system.
